About the Opportunity

ISMG is launching a pioneering CXO Advisory Practice focused on cybersecurity – and we’re hiring a Sales Manager to lead the Client Acquisition Team. This is a high-impact, foundational role with a unique opportunity to build and scale a business from the ground up within a trusted global media and events organization. As our first sales hire, you’ll not only close business but also shape the go-to-market strategy, develop scalable sales operations, and grow the sales team as the practice expands.

This role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional with deep experience in consulting or staffing services, foundational cybersecurity knowledge, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

What You’ll Do

🧩 Business Development & Sales 

  • Drive net-new business development for executive cybersecurity consulting services (CXO advisory and fractional leadership engagements)
  • Build and actively manage a high-quality pipeline of enterprise and mid-market prospects
  • Close complex, high-value consulting and service deals with senior cybersecurity decision-makers
  • Develop and deliver compelling proposals tailored to client needs
  • Engage directly with CISOs, CIOs, and cybersecurity leadership to build long-term relationships
  • Represent the firm at top-tier cybersecurity industry events and build market visibility
🔗 Operational Strategy & Leadership
  • Build and lead the Client Acquisition Team, hiring and mentoring top-performing Account Executives
  • Design and iterate the sales strategy, sales playbooks, and scalable processes to accelerate growth
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, delivery, and executive teams to refine offerings and align GTM plans
  • Establish and monitor sales metrics, forecasts, reporting systems, and performance KPIs

What You Bring

🎯 Must-Have Skills
  • 5+ years of consultative sales experience, ideally within cybersecurity, technical services, or contingent staffing
  • Demonstrated ability to sell high-value professional services with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets
  • Solid understanding of the cybersecurity landscape; able to hold intelligent conversations with executive-level cyber leaders
  • Entrepreneurial drive with comfort navigating ambiguity and building from scratch
  • Outstanding relationship development, negotiation, and client service skills
  • Experience as a founding sales contributor or early-stage team member in a high-growth or startup environment
🚀 Leadership & Strategy Capabilities
  • Proven experience in building and scaling sales teams and infrastructure
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to align sales efforts with broader business objectives
  • Confidence in influencing product/service positioning, pricing models, and delivery refinement

  • A strong presence in the cybersecurity community and understanding of evolving industry trends
